The Carl Zeiss Jena Neophot 32 microscope can be used for incident bright-light and it operates with a mechanical Z-drive and a mechanical stage. It is equipped with inverted table, so that the sample-surface to be observed is being placed down on top of the microscope, to ensure that the whole sample-surface is in focus, well suited for f.ex. observation of cross sections. The magnification is 10x for the oculars and in addition the turret is equipped with 3.2x, 6.3x, 12.5x, 25x and 50x objectives. The microscope is also equipped with a (CCD) camera and a computer software system with the possibility of showing the image on the screen. It is also possible to change mag. to camera between 8x, 10x, 12.5x, 16x or 20x lenses.
